Cartridge
A cartridge is a cylinder with various filtering components. The purifier may consist of cardboard, activated charcoal, etc. All these fillers absorb chlorine. The ends of the cylinder are closed with rubber sealing rings (except for filters with mechanical cleaning). The seals fit around the protrusions of the housing, preventing untreated water from leaking into the filtered water. The lower part of the purification system is attached to the "head" of the device. You can replace the element yourself or call a technician.

Self-replacement
Decided to replace the cartridge yourself? There is nothing complicated about it.
1. To replace, first shut off the water and unscrew the lower part of the housing with the wrench included in the set. Pressure may prevent unscrewing. In that case, release it by pressing the button on top of the cartridge. Try not to spill liquid when unscrewing. If this cannot be avoided, place a cloth underneath.
2. Now move to the next step: removing the old removable element. Feel the condition of the seals: are they soft and pliable? You can take them out and rinse them. Pour out the water from the reservoir and rinse it under a stream. If there is rust, do not use household cleaning agents. This is because the cleaning agent may remain on the rust and get into the clean water. Wipe the filter "head."
3. Insert the purchased element into the clean housing. Sometimes you encounter hard rubber rings that should be replaced with elastic ones. Otherwise, you will have to apply some physical effort to tighten. Be careful, do not overdo it. If you use Aquafilter water filters produced by the company, there will be no installation problems.
4. Now you should tighten the housing. Use the special wrench included in the set. Tighten until it stops. When working with a reverse osmosis filter, the washed reservoir must be filled with purified water after installation. If this is not done, the filter membrane may collect air bubbles that could damage it.
5. Start turning on the water and filling the purification system. Is water seeping between the housing and the "head"? Turn off the water and tighten the reservoir more. Still doesn't help? Inspect the housing for damage.
6. It is advisable to discard the first water purified by the new cartridge. Do this for about 10 minutes. This is because the charcoal contains dust particles. During this time, they are usually washed out and the water becomes drinkable.
