Experts highlight several simple rules that will help keep tires in perfect condition.
Rule 1: Thorough preparation!
After removing the tires from the car, they need to be prepared for long-term storage. To do this, they need to be cleaned of dirt, packed sand, eliminate any icing and other foreign substances that may have gotten stuck in the treads. Rule 2: Regular check!
If the tires are to be stored separately from the rims, it is better to place them vertically, but rotate them at least once a month. This will prevent deformation of the base. Rule 3: Tires with rims store horizontally!
The opposite rule applies to those tires that remain on rims. They, on the contrary, cannot be stored vertically; it is advisable to place them horizontally or hang them. When hung, they will take up less space in the garage and will not be exposed to external influences. Under no circumstances should wheels with rims be placed on edge!
Rule 4: The environment is of paramount importance
Do not store tires in a room with high humidity. It is advisable to find a dry, cool room that can be regularly ventilated and that will reliably protect the tires from sunlight. Note that it is better not to store chemicals in this room that could have a negative effect on the tires.
