All tourist roads lead to Rome
Italy is the homeland of brilliant architects, singers, and writers. Its capital – majestic Rome – is the main museum of Europe, which preserves many monuments from the Roman Empire era: the Colosseum, temples on the Forum, the Pantheon, and much more. It is no wonder that this country, thanks to its architecture, leads the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Italy is a republic that includes 110 provinces united into 20 regions, each with its own dialect, traditions, customs, cuisine, and culture; this explains its diversity. For example, Milan – a bright, noisy, modern capital of fashion and beauty. This city is visited by everyone who buys tours to Italy for shopping. Or the majestic Vatican, shrouded in secrets and mysteries, located right inside the territory of Rome. There are many such striking contrasts in this country: white sandy beaches and ski resorts, the vineyards of Val d'Orcia and Mount Etna, alpine meadows and orange groves.
Italian cuisine is not just pasta, lasagna, pizza, and tiramisu. Italians are refined gourmets, and each region has its signature dishes that help travelers diversify their vacation in Italy and experience the true taste of this country. For example, in Piedmont, the cuisine has absorbed much from French, from dishes to their names, and cheeses from this region have been known since the 12th century: Bra, Castelmagno, Murazzano, Toma, Raschera, Robiola. In Venice, they love fish and seafood in all possible forms; in Milan, favorite dishes are made from rice, meat, and offal.
Another surprising thing for any foreigner in Italy is the siesta. From 12 to 3 p.m., everyone sleeps. Everything and everywhere – everything closes except large supermarkets and shopping centers, and Italians go to rest. In big cities, this is observed less, as they usually have a large influx of tourists, but in the countryside, siesta is the law.
Italy has many national parks and protected areas, which are protected by the state and occupy 10% of the country's territory. The most famous of them is Gran Paradiso, the first national park. It is unique in that within its limited area, there are mountain slopes, glacial valleys, a large number of coniferous trees, and alpine meadows.
The most melodious language in the world is Italian. Although it is the official language of the country, it is not the only one spoken by its inhabitants. They speak a lot, quickly, emotionally, while passionately gesticulating. In Aosta, they speak French; in Sardinia, Sardinian; in Bolzano, German; in Trieste, Slovenian.
Italians love to sing even more, always and everywhere. In general, Italy is the cradle of musical art; it gave the world composers Gioachino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, and the famous violins of Antonio Stradivari and his students have been played for over four hundred years by the best violinists in the world.
Ancient history, uniqueness, nature, and a people with a hot temperament make this country truly unique. Therefore, it is not surprising that every year millions of tourists choose the numerous seaside resorts and beautiful romantic towns of Italy as their vacation destination.
