You can get acquainted with the unique historical, architectural and cultural heritage of this country at the Italy in Miniature amusement park. It is here that you can walk around the famous "Italian boot" in just a couple of hours, getting acquainted with the country's main attractions.
Founded back in 1970, today the Italy in Miniature park welcomes about half a million tourists from all over the world. Its territory houses 270 reproductions of architectural wonders of "Bel Paese", as Italy is called in Europe, created with maximum precision and care. Also here you can see over five thousand miniature trees that reflect the country's flora and give the park a special appeal.
For the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, celebrated three years ago, the park developed ten new educational routes telling about the Renaissance and the Risorgimento era – the unification of the country. In addition, new sections were opened: "Pappamondo" with colorful tropical macaws and cockatoos, and "YouMini", where using a laser scanner you can create a 3D model of yourself in miniature, and then cast it using aluminum powder and nylon.
The park's various attractions attract not only young travelers but also their parents. Children will love the interactive dive school, where they can learn about safe diving techniques and even get a real diver's license. Those who like to make discoveries and explore the secrets of our world should visit the "Science Fun Fair", which has an interactive laboratory. And for adventure fans, the direct path is to a canoe descent or to jumps on a 55-meter-high "Sling Shot"!
At the "Cannonacqua" attraction, which is a reproduction of the Malatesta Fortress at a scale of 1:3, a real water battle unfolds involving a dozen water cannons that must repel the medieval attack. In the park, you can also ride a gondola along the Grand Canal of Venice and meet Casanova in St. Mark's Square. It is the reproduction of Venice at a scale of 1:5 that is one of the most popular in "Italy in Miniature".
And if you are tired of exciting rides at the attractions, you can sit in a monorail car and slowly ride around the entire Italian "boot", admiring beautiful copies of Venice, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Colosseum... And after a little rest, return to the many attractions, fortunately – they are all paid for by the entrance ticket!
