Dubai Investors to Get Short-Term Visa

Developers should not lure investors into Dubai real estate with false promises of a resident visa, the official added. A property owner can obtain a short-term visa, but the decision to grant a resident visa is made at the federal level.

Resident visas that some Dubai developers have issued to foreign homeowners may be replaced by the authorities with visitor visas. Marwan bin Ghalita stated that a visitor visa is similar to visas issued to foreign property owners in other countries. In the US alone, for example, there are more than 250 types of visas.

According to Prian.ru, over the past 6 years, more than 20,000 foreigners have purchased real estate in Dubai. Many of them obtained a resident visa based on property ownership. But buying a home does not automatically entitle one to such a visa. Thousands of foreigners invested in real estate at various stages of construction hoping to immediately obtain a resident visa, as promised by developers. However, many were denied. To avoid confusion and misunderstandings, the government guaranteed short-term visas to Dubai property owners. However, a resident visa can be obtained by opening a company in Dubai, becoming a partner in an emirate company, or investing in a local firm.
