As is known, Russia plans to create several separate gambling zones (a total of four), and one of them will be located in Primorsky Krai. Of course, the construction of a large-scale entertainment complex will make recreation in Primorye even more attractive and interesting, give an additional stimulus to the economic development of the region, attract significant funds from investors, and open new jobs.
But at what pace is the preparation for construction proceeding? Will a new Las Vegas be created in the Russian Far East?
The Russian government issued a document according to which the gambling zone will be located on the shore of Ussuri Bay near Cape Turtle. On the territory, it is planned to build several hotels with a total room stock of 5-7 thousand, many casinos designed for five thousand slot machines and more than a thousand gaming tables.
It is assumed that the Primorye gambling zone will become exclusively an investment project, that is, it will be created with money from private investors – both Russian and foreign. The main advantage of this project is the unique location of the zone. The fact is that Primorye is not just an interesting natural corner, but also a place close to developed and developing countries of the Asia-Pacific region. It is expected that a flow of foreigners will pour here, wishing to try their luck in local casinos and at the same time understand what recreation in Nakhodka and other resort areas of the region is.
However, the prospects for the development of the Primorye gambling zone are not so cloudless. According to media reports, one of the most important problems has been the allocation of land plots for entertainment and gambling complexes. The territory designated for development is partly overgrown with valuable forests and partly consists of agricultural land. Cutting down these forests today would mean destroying the unique nature of an entire area (recall that the gambling zone will occupy an area of 600 hectares).
Local authorities managed to find a compromise solution: at present, it is assumed that the Primorye gambling zone will not be an urban project, but a huge tourist complex, where the creators will try to preserve the natural uniqueness as much as possible and organize the best conditions not only for gambling and accommodation, but also for sports and family recreation.
