As reported by Gazeta.Ru, Greek authorities have already banned smoking in hospitals, offices, and taxis, and have called on owners of cafes and restaurants to divide establishments into smoking and non-smoking areas. However, so far these bans and recommendations have largely been ignored.
A new bill banning smoking in all public places is expected to be approved by parliament in the near future. If this happens, all violators will face a fine of €300.
