Canada's pilot program Global Talent Stream has become permanent

Over two years, more than a thousand Canadian companies have used the Global Talent Stream program, attracting over four thousand highly qualified specialists from abroad, who found work in Canada in the field of innovative technologies.
The condition for these companies to participate in the Global Talent Stream program was that they committed to creating about 40,000 jobs for Canadian citizens and permanent residents, providing paid internships for about 10,000 Canadian students, and investing over 90 million dollars in training and professional development programs for local workers.
However, given the high bar for selecting foreign specialists and a number of serious requirements for Canadian employers, this program is of practical interest to a fairly limited circle of specialists in the field of information technology. Nevertheless, it gives highly qualified specialists the opportunity to move to Canada.
As "Russian Toronto" notes, according to current statistics, demand for this program from foreign specialists has sharply increased as soon as it was declared permanent. At the same time, it must be understood that Global Talent Stream is not an immigration program. However, for those who are hired in Canada under this program, good opportunities open up to immigrate and obtain permanent resident status in Canada in a fairly short time.
