As reported by "Lenta.ru", the corresponding ranking was compiled by tourism industry specialists based on a comparative study of prices among the 29 most popular resorts for winter vacations in warm countries. The top three most affordable beach winter destinations also included the Canary island of Tenerife (second place) and India's Goa (third place). The most expensive beach destination for winter vacationers was recognized as Turks and Caicos.
The specialists drew conclusions based on the cost of a one-week vacation for a family of four. The total expenses included the cost of a one-week stay in a two-bedroom apartment in winter 2015, a one-week car rental, expenses for groceries, and a dinner for four with drinks at a restaurant.

Data was collected and analyzed on resorts in different parts of the world where the average air temperature from December to March is 20 degrees Celsius or higher.
The TripIndex Winter Sun study was conducted by the international agency Ipsos from October 6 to 22, 2014, commissioned by TripAdvisor. Data collection was carried out by analyzing online information as well as by calling employees of companies providing the necessary services. To determine the average price, data was collected from three to five companies. Conversion of local currencies into euros was made at the exchange rate as of October 22, 2014.
