In order to ensure the security of the alliance summit participants, from March 20 to April 5, border controls will be reinstated on France's borders with neighboring states that are part of the Schengen area.
In particular, selective document checks will be carried out on France's borders with Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Spain.
As RIA Novosti notes, document checks will also be reinstated in the Schengen zone of French airports.
