According to RFI, the new residents of the island will replace the couple Soizic and David Cuisnier. They spent ten whole years on the thirty hectares of land and during that time managed not only to create a large farm and attract tourists, but also to raise two children.
The competition for the lease of the island of Quéménès, which is one and a half kilometers long and 400 meters wide, has been announced by the Coastal Protection Agency (Conservatoire du littoral). According to the France-Presse agency, at least 15 candidates have already submitted their projects. Applications can be submitted until September 26. French citizenship is not required to participate in the project.
According to the Coastal Protection Agency, future "Robinsons" must propose an innovative and economically viable project for the development of Quéménès. Their main goal should be to preserve the island's nature and to host tourists. The lease cost will be about 7,000 euros per year.

During this time, with financial support from the Coastal Protection Agency, the family installed solar panels, a wind turbine, and a rainwater filtration system.
The couple grew potatoes and raised livestock. The Cuisniers exported five tons of potatoes per year to Switzerland, Belgium, and Italy. The couple also hosted tourists on the island. The cost of one night reached up to 330 euros, and in total they managed to earn about 2,000 euros per month.
