Already several dozen holders of the Pole's Card have applied for material assistance in connection with moving to Poland
Press secretary of the Masovian Voivode Ewa Filipowicz said that such assistance will be paid for a maximum of 9 months to both the holder of the Pole's Card and the immediate members of his family staying in Poland. Ewa Filipowicz explains that in the Masovian Voivodeship, an application for assistance can be submitted to the Office for Foreigners in Warsaw or at the offices of this authority in other cities.
As Polskie Radio notes, today about 180,000 foreigners have the Pole's Card. This document confirms belonging to the Polish nation, and it has been issued since 2008 to persons of Polish origin living in 15 countries of the former Soviet Union.
The Pole's Card (Karta Polaka) is a document confirming the affiliation of a person – a citizen of one of the CIS and Baltic countries – to the Polish nation. The holder of the Pole's Card has a number of non-citizen rights arising from the Law on the Pole's Card, adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of Poland on September 7, 2007. The official purpose of introducing the card is to support the kinship, ethnic and linguistic values of the Polish people in the CIS and Baltic countries.
