The Transport Committee of the European Parliament concluded that an air passenger is just as much a consumer as buyers of other goods and services and has the right to reliable information about the price.
The bill applies to any indication of price addressed to the public. It must include all mandatory surcharges, taxes and other payments, including airport, government and fuel surcharges.
Optional charges and services must be clearly positioned as optional and then chosen by the passenger independently, rather than being included in the ticket price in advance with the possibility of cancellation, as practiced by many budget airlines. In addition, reports Travel.ru, the bill requires airlines to explicitly indicate in the ticket all security fees.
