As part of the preparation for the festival, a series of scientific and cultural events are planned in several European countries. Similar events have already taken place in a number of countries, for example, in Italy and Germany at the end of 2008. And already in the spring of this year, Ukraine will host guests and participants of the regional tour of the European Festival.
During the events, round tables, master classes, open lessons, and book exhibitions are planned. The events are aimed at identifying problems of teaching Russian language in Great Britain and neighboring European countries, expanding the methodological knowledge of school teachers and university instructors, and familiarizing them with new scientific and methodological literature. Famous scientists, politicians, journalists, public figures, and writers will be invited to participate in the festival events. In addition to the scientific part of the regional tour, competitions and quizzes are planned for schoolchildren, students, and all interested.
Participation in the competition will allow fans and admirers of the Russian language not only to demonstrate their knowledge and creative potential, but also to get acquainted with the richness and diversity of Russia's cultural and spiritual life, to gain an incentive for further study of the Russian language, and for teachers of Russian – to improve their professional skills and find like-minded people, friends and colleagues.
Participants of the regional tour will receive prizes and gifts, and winners will receive a trip to the final of the European Festival in St. Petersburg.
More detailed information about the competition conditions can be found on the festival website Eurofest.russkoeslovo.org
