European Hotels Lower Prices

Hotels in Prague of the 4 and 5 star level recently introduced new prices. As tour operators note, a stay in a four-star hotel is now cheaper than previously in a three-star hotel. At the same time, hotel occupancy dropped by 22%.

In Rome, hotel occupancy fell by 16%, and prices by 16.5%; in Paris, these figures were 8% and 13.6% respectively. The same situation is observed in the UK, reports Interfax. Occupancy in London hotels fell by 7%, prices dropped by 27%. In Moscow, occupancy fell by 12.7%, and prices by 18.3%.

According to forecasts, in 2009 hotels in the world's largest cities will continue to see price decreases. In particular, as reported by the Spanish press, 86% of the country's expensive hotels, as well as mid-range and budget hotels, plan to reduce the cost of accommodation, and only 12% of luxury hotels expect sales growth.
