Europeans Prefer to Vacation for Dollars

"Over the past year, sales for Egypt in the European tourism market have grown by an average of 13%, and for Turkey by 10%," said Manny Fontenla-Novoa, CEO of Thomas Cook. "Judging by bookings, these figures will be even higher in the coming winter season," added M. Fontenla-Novoa. "Winter Egypt has already grown by 20% compared to last year, Turkey has added almost 14%. Moreover, all-inclusive vacations are becoming increasingly popular."

As Interfax notes, despite the economic downturn in Europe, demand for vacations overall remains high.
