In 2011, construction of the Villa Ritka project, created by the Czech architectural studio Praha, was completed. An expert from a construction audit firm believes that the stone building located in Ritka (Czech Republic) deserves special attention from readers.
The architects invented an eccentric mansion located on two hills, in an entirely new form. Several rooms lie on the ground plane, while part of the house seems dug in. Such a building concept is perfect for the surrounding mountainous region of the country.
The custom-designed house consists of two floors and a lower room that houses garages. Earthen mounds visually divide the apartment into living and non-living areas. Windows replaced the walls of the upper floors. They are covered with a unified system of blinds, which perfectly protects from piercing scorching sunlight. From the inside, it feels like being placed in a transparent cube. It is important to emphasize that the villa has a square shape, which makes it stand out from the ordinary look of neighboring plots.
It resembles several combined rectangles that have an absolutely flat roof. The tiled roof formed a whimsical terrace with a view of greenery. Flower boxes placed along the entire length create an even more harmonious and well-groomed appearance for the surrounding landscape.
If you look at the dwelling from above, it is easy to notice its U-shaped structure. Thanks to this, the creators inserted a large inner courtyard in the middle of the building. Everything blended with nature; around, the fresh, neat, and unspoiled by human nature grass looks great with the living room interior.
There is also a small pool in the form of a pond, located on the plot, decorated with stones and greenery. It perfectly cools the outdoor area during the hot summer period. The owners can sit on the sofa in the hall, relax and enjoy looking at it.
The design of the Prague mansion included light wooden staircases. They float above the laminate, not taking up extra space and creating a feeling of airiness and weightlessness. The illusion of suspension bridges is created because the steps are attached with unusual wire railings.
One cannot say that the interior decoration is rich in variety of colors, but nor can it be called monochrome. Everything is kept in restrained black and white tones and light shades of wood, which creates a stunning forest bouquet and overall harmony. Soft diffused light serves as a light addition to the overall grace.
