The system is designed to automatically select and compare airline ticket numbers, marking them as sold in the global grid. Thanks to the automation of actions and the maximum restriction of access to the system's operation, cases of fraud or the possibility of selling one ticket to several passengers, as well as other machinations offering cheap airline tickets, are initially excluded.
The benefits of such a system, according to experts, are obvious, and it is said that it is not one-sided but double-sided. After all, electronic tickets are more profitable, convenient, and comfortable to buy while sitting in a comfortable chair, rather than crowding in endless and noisy queues. Moreover, electronic tickets are more functional than ordinary paper ones: they are more reliable, safer, and give more peace of mind, since the possibility of theft or loss of an electronic ticket does not threaten anything serious. You only need to find access to the Internet and print out the itinerary receipt again, which must be presented to the regulatory authorities during check-in.
On the other hand, the sale of electronic tickets allows airlines to track the degree of interest in a given route, the level of sales, and, of course, the financial side of the issue. As practice shows, employees working in the field of tracking electronic tickets, unlike employees working at ticket offices and issuing ordinary paper tickets to passengers, are less busy and are generally relieved of paperwork.
Along with an abundance of positive aspects, the e-ticket system operating in Russia has one of the few inconveniences. And these inconveniences are associated with the payment system for electronic tickets. The fact is that Internet users, to a fairly large extent, use popular Internet money systems – these are Yandex.Money and WebMoney. However, the e-ticket system does not accept payment through these payment systems. The only acceptable payment option is a credit card.
