Exotic Fishing on Phuket

Hunting and fishing in Thailand are no less popular than in other Asian countries. The best fishing spots are considered to be those in Krabi province, Khao Sok National Park, as well as Cheow Lan Lake and the bays of Ko Racha Noi Island. Fishing is a good opportunity to have fun and relax. And it is best done on the large lakes of Phuket. Famous fishermen organize various tourist programs, and for inexperienced ones, fishing with instructors is offered.

Freshwater fishing will differ from that in other parts of Southeast Asia. Due to vast territories, there are places considered pristine, untouched by civilization. All of them are strictly protected by local authorities. Exotic fish are found there and can be easily caught on an ordinary hook. Striped catfish, Siamese carp, Mississippi gars, arapaimas, gouramis, pacu, silver sharks, and large freshwater stingrays are found here. The picture is complemented by dozens of species of small fish.

Special tours for fishermen vary in price and duration, but the most popular are one-day trips. They go for giant trevally, sailfish, wahoo, barracuda, black marlin, rainbow runner, as well as tuna and dorado.

Fishing tourism on Phuket Island is also popular, where various fishing techniques are used. One of the main and most popular is the trolling method. It is used while the boat is moving. Certain skills are required here to achieve results.

At the service of visiting tourists are boats with varying levels of comfort. Both modest yachts and comfortable luxury-class boats designed for several people are offered. All instructors speak both Russian and English. They will advise where and how best to catch exotic fish. Insurance for foreign tourists is mandatory. The tour price usually includes the cost of bait, tackle, meals on the boat, and transportation to the 'hunting' site.

Each tourist should have two fishing rods (they can be provided on site), bait from small fish is attached to one, and from boiled corn to the other. There are other well-proven lures made by locals. And if you want a snack, you will be fed dishes of national Thai cuisine on the vessel. Thailand is a hospitable country, every tourist is welcome here.
