What Apple offered in the new iPhone XR model

For the new iPhone XR model, Apple chose six different colors

The first thing that catches the eye is the new, unique colors. The XR can be purchased in six different color options that are not available for either the X or XS models. By the way, part of the proceeds from the sale of the Apple iPhone XR in red (also known as product red) goes to the fight against HIV/AIDS.

And while the colors certainly cannot be called a drawback, the screen is much more ambiguous. On one hand, the XR uses the newest and most advanced LCD display that Apple has – Liquid Retina. However, the screen resolution is lower than that of the X and XS models: 1792 x 828 pixels versus 2436 x 1125 pixels for the XS. At the same time, the XR is larger in size, so the difference in resolution will be noticeable, but it will not be critical or even a particular problem.

The camera is 12 megapixels. Optical stabilization, the ability to shoot video in 4K at 60 frames per second, everything as it should be. But there is only one camera (two if you count the front one). Everyone is used to the fact that if there is one camera, there is no portrait mode, and if there are two, there is. Here it is different: portrait mode is available and works perfectly thanks to the software. Neural networks themselves determine where in the photo is the person being photographed and where is the background. After taking the photo, you can adjust the background blur and apply the necessary filters. Exactly the same functionality is available on the front camera, but not at 12 megapixels, but at 7.

In terms of hardware, the XR can neither surprise us nor disappoint us. The internals are exactly the same as those of its 'older brother' – the XS. The best (according to Apple) processor – A12 Bionic, memory in three variants: 64, 128, and 256 gigabytes. It holds a charge one and a half times longer than the '8', which is about 3000 mAh (approximately, because Apple does not disclose this information). This is enough for a normal, full working day, so here too the XR does not let you down.

Overall, the iPhone XR is an excellent, budget-friendly within Apple's lineup smartphone that, both in terms of specifications and feel (both tactile and aesthetic), does not yield to flagship models. If you have an old, working iPhone model, feel free to trade it in. If you are still looking and choosing a good phone, be sure to include the XR in your list of candidates, because it is a phone 'for the people' that you can choose at the official iStore.
