The famous Saratov bridge
A tourist just needs, say, to book a hotel in Volgograd and enjoy the wonderful natural landscapes and accompanying active recreation. In some places – for example, on the Cosmonauts Embankment in Saratov – the river's width is three kilometers; in other places located near Saratov – up to 11 kilometers. The "Old Bridge", built in the middle of the last century and considered the longest in Europe until 1980, attracts great interest from tourists. The most popular type of recreation on the Volga is fishing.
However, the city of Saratov can offer not only outdoor recreation on the banks of the famous Russian river. Though many call this city provincial, culture here is at a high level. Anyone wishing, upon paying a small fee for a ticket, can visit the Saratov Conservatory, built in Gothic style, and enjoy classical music performed by a symphony orchestra, or go to a ballet or opera at the nearby Bolshoi Theatre.
Guests of the city will be welcomed by Saratov hotels; although there are not many of them, the ones that exist are quite decent. Tour operators offer their clients accommodation at the Volga Hotel. Its building, built at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries, is located on Kirov Avenue. The hotel is quite cozy and convenient.
The Slovakia Hotel, built later and therefore more modern. It is not located in the center, but on the embankment, yet in popularity among tourists it is not inferior to the hotel described above. You can also stay at the Olympia, Zagreb hotels, as well as other private hotels.
If a tourist wants to have a vacation as close to nature as possible, they can book a room at one of the tourist bases located on the banks of the Volga near Saratov.
