In the center of Sochi there are many sanatoriums offering both inexpensive vacations and elite-class relaxation. Sochi and Lazarevskoye are resorts of Krasnodar Krai which, uniquely in Russia, are located in a subtropical climate zone. Comfortable rest is facilitated by the favorable climate and the purest sea air.
Most resorts of Krasnodar Krai have beaches with small pebbles. In Anapa and Gelendzhik, the beaches are sandy. If you do not want to stay in sanatoriums, hotels, or in the private sector, you have the option of renting a turnkey apartment, i.e., without owners. During the tourist season, special attention is paid to the organization of leisure and various children's programs. Krasnodar Krai is notable for hundreds of kilometers of beaches that meet the requirements of even the most demanding tourists, as well as medical programs and the opportunity to improve health with local mineral waters. Special attention should be paid to the resort town of Tuapse, which is located on the Black Sea coast, between Sochi and Gelendzhik. The town is not remarkable architecturally, and is no different from many similar towns. However, a vacation in Tuapse is very attractive, primarily for fishing enthusiasts, due to the presence of a large variety of fish in the waters of the Black Sea. Tuapse is also attractive for diving enthusiasts. Tuapse has many sanatoriums and boarding houses offering health services, as well as a thalassotherapy program. The town has a recreation park with many inexpensive cafes and restaurants.
As for the cost, a vacation in Tuapse will be cheaper than in the neighboring cities of Sochi and Gelendzhik. Hotels in Tuapse are mostly economy class, with quite affordable prices and decent service. Of course, there are also expensive elite hotels. The private sector is well developed in Tuapse, represented by small houses and cottages, where for a small amount of money the tourist will be provided with good meals; excursion programs can also be organized.
The most comfortable time for a vacation in Tuapse is the so-called velvet season (September – October), when the air temperature is about +25 degrees, and the water temperature is 22 degrees Celsius. In addition, during this period there are far fewer tourists in the city, and the velvet season also features lower prices.
