Thanks to the visa-free regime, the Ukrainian passport has managed to "gain weight"
As reported by "Russkaya Germaniya", Japan took first place – its citizens can visit 190 countries without visas. In second place are Singapore and South Korea with 189 countries. Germany and France are in third place (188 countries). Interestingly, a year ago Germany was in first place with a score of 177 countries.
The top ten includes European countries (including the UK and Switzerland), as well as the USA and Canada. Their citizens can visit 182 or more countries without visas. Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan have 128, 119, 77, and 76 countries with visa-free entry. Compared to last year, these numbers have increased for all. For example, a year ago Russian citizens could visit 110 countries without a visa (an increase of 9 countries), and Ukrainian citizens – 114 countries (an increase of 14 countries).
Iraq and Afghanistan remain at the bottom of the Index – 30 countries with visa-free access.
In December 2018, the Passport Index ranking by Arton Capital was published with somewhat different results – in it, the UAE passport was recognized as the "strongest" with 167 countries. Second place was shared by Singapore and Germany – their citizens can freely visit 166 countries. Third place in the ranking was shared by Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Norway, South Korea, and the USA. Citizens of these states have the opportunity to visit 165 countries without visas.
