Czechia finds even 700,000 foreigners insufficient

The Czech economy needs to hire about 300-400 thousand more workers

As reported by Radio Prague, since the end of 2018 the total number of foreigners employed in the Czech Republic has increased by 38,000 and amounts to almost 700,000 people. The Union of Industry and Transport and the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic are confident that Czech industry, construction, and the trade sector cannot do without foreigners.

These sectors, experts note, need about 300-400 thousand more workers, although the country's economy is currently beginning to slow down its development.

60% of foreign workers employed in the Czech Republic on the basis of employment contracts are citizens of European Union countries. 92,000 foreigners are engaged in individual entrepreneurship – most of them are Ukrainians (22,408), followed by Vietnamese (20,904 people).
