In recent years, hundreds of palaces and castles in the Czech Republic have become objects for sale
Real estate agency owner Pavel Ondráček loves history so much that in 2016 he became the owner of his second castle, having acquired the first one 20 years ago, opening a tavern and a hotel in medieval style there. An investment of seven million crowns paid off handsomely. Last year, for fifteen million crowns, Ondráček acquired a rococo-style residence that was in a dilapidated state.
As Radio Prague notes, dozens of castles and aristocratic residences surrounded by large parks are put up for sale on the Czech real estate market. For example, the company Praga 1 by Roman Gronek can currently offer 35 such properties. Interesting offers for detailed properties can also be found on a website offering real estate in many countries around the world.
Prices for castles in the Czech Republic range from five to two hundred million crowns, and interest in such investments has only been growing recently. "People are looking for new interesting directions for investing funds," says co-owner of the agency Chateau Jiří Soukup.
"Selling a castle in the Czech Republic is not a matter of one or two months. As a rule, it takes several months or even years. Much depends on the condition of the property," describes the situation Martin Fojtík, director of the company Fincentrum Reality, who also reminds that the reconstruction process can be particularly difficult if the building is a historical monument.
