Czechs recalculate 'migrating earnings'

Czechs calculate foreign remittances to home countries

The leaders in remittances from the Czech Republic to home countries in 2017 were citizens of Ukraine – 15.2 billion crowns. According to the latest World Bank data, remittances from labor migrants account for a substantial 10.9% of Ukraine's GDP.

In second place were Slovaks – 10.7 billion crowns. Russians sent 2.7 billion crowns to their home country, Vietnamese – 2.2 billion crowns.

In turn, as reported by Vinegret.cz, Czechs working abroad sent home 83.8 billion crowns. Most came from Germany (38.7 billion) and Austria (14 billion).
