Participants of the All-Ukrainian Robotics Olympiad prepare to bring WRO to Kyiv
Robotics is one of the leading applied sciences, and Ukrainian children have demonstrated their talents on the international stage since 2009, participating in the WRO in South Korea. Since then, young designers have amazed foreign judges and opponents with their extraordinary creativity, brilliant erudition, and unconventional thinking, conquering venues in Korea, the Philippines, and the UAE. This year, the winners of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad have every chance to be among the 13 teams of the Ukrainian national team and defend the right to host the WRO in Ukraine in 2015.
"WRO is a global gathering of talented youth from around the world, a unique platform for interactive learning that provides opportunities to realize one's aspirations and show the world one's achievements in robotics," says WRO General Secretary, Klaus Ditlev Christensen.
The exciting program of the event, including competitions, quizzes, and building a large figure from LEGO bricks, will not leave any festival guest indifferent! All participants will be awarded incentive prizes from LEGO. And the winners of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad will receive valuable prizes from giants such as LEGO, Discovery Channel, Google Ukraine, and TM "Atlant".
According to the organizers, ProLEGO, the official representative of LEGO Education in Ukraine, robotics olympiads show that children's interest in programming and construction not only helps lay a solid foundation for a child's intellectual development, but also develops their creativity, communication skills, and team spirit. The theme of this year's olympiad is fitting – "Robots That Unite People".
During the competition, children will be able to communicate with peers and gain a lot of experience designing robots that impress with their ability to mimic facial expressions, distinguish colors, play human games, and function together with children!
Such tasks are not something every adult can handle! And it is all the more amazing that children perform them. But the main thing is that these children already represent a new progressive generation, know how to apply their creative potential in unconventional ways, and are the pride of the country!
The All-Ukrainian Robotics Olympiad is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the LEGO Foundation charitable foundation, LEGO, ProLEGO, System Group, TM "ATLANT", and others.
