After Brexit, it may become easier to go to work in Britain
The changes will be implemented taking into account the needs of different regions of Britain, various sectors of the economy and the standard of living in different parts of the country.
The Financial Times lists the measures under discussion. For example, lowering the requirements for the future income level of a foreign employee if he or she will work in regions particularly in need of labor, where salary levels are lower than in London and other places.
However, as BBC notes, the government of Theresa May has already made a financial concession by setting in the draft immigration reform a requirement for foreigners to earn at least 30,000 pounds sterling per year – that is, less than now.
The Times draws attention to non-material but other important relaxations for skilled workers. After Brexit, it is proposed to abolish the requirement for applicants to have a higher education, and for employers – to first advertise the vacancy and consider candidates with British passports (and only after not finding a suitable employee, to re-post the vacancy and consider foreigners for it).
The existing quotas for issuing work visas to highly qualified foreign specialists are also to be abolished.
