Bulgaria intends to develop wine tourism at its resorts. Currently, excursions to wine tasting centers are included in the tour program for Bulgaria. However, representatives of the country's tourism business decided to accommodate tourists directly near the centers, reports Travel.ru.
Many European countries use the grape harvest time to attract tourists. In autumn, numerous wine festivals are held in Hungary, Italy, Greece, and France. During the season, more than a million foreign tourists become festival visitors annually.
Against the background of other countries earning from wine tours, Bulgaria will clearly not be lost. “Wine excursions are in very high demand,” said Valeria Medvedeva, manager of one of the companies that organizes trips to Bulgaria. “For 70% of tourists, trips to the cellars are a mandatory part of the tour program.”
