Shine and Health of Hair: Lamination

The first thing most women think of includes a traditional list of products: shampoos, spray conditioners, balm masks, balm rinses – they can be listed endlessly. But in fact, the answer lies on the surface: it is much cheaper to consult a specialist once and start gradual hair treatment than to constantly buy expensive products that bring no results.

There are three main cosmetic procedures for hair – toning, coloring, and lamination. Let's focus on the latter, because our goal is healthy and shiny hair.

According to experts, lamination is a therapeutic cosmetic procedure that restores damaged hair structure and nourishes it. The two types of lamination differ only in the products used: in elimination, a special 'artificial' dye is used, while in biolamination, airtight cellulose substances (something similar to dandelion stem juice) are used. In the latter case, both the hair and the scalp breathe. However, it should be noted that the latter is also more expensive.

For the most resourceful, there is even a kind of 'combo' – color lamination, when coloring is combined with a therapeutic procedure.

So, what are the main positive aspects of the procedure? In fact, the effect after the procedure exceeds all expectations, because several problems are solved at once: split ends, brittleness and dullness of hair, soreness of hair roots. In the end, we get that aesthetic result that the girls who have had lamination primarily desire. Hair becomes shiny due to glossing, very soft, voluminous and silky. It is almost impossible to achieve such an effect with ordinary dyes. However, it should be noted that a striking difference will be noticeable only on thin and weakened hair.

The health benefit is more from the composition of the laminating consistency: the more diverse the composition (cellulose, dandelion extract, zucchini, etc.), the stronger the effect. But in any case, proteins will restore the hair structure, and the film that covers each individual strand will preserve nourishing and healing substances in your hair for a long time.

Lamination lasts on average about a month, in some cases, if the consistency is of good quality, it can last 1.5-2 months. However, one should not complain about a home procedure if the effect fades in the second week, because home lamination cannot last longer.

Should special care be taken after lamination? There are no special rules, rather recommendations. It is better to use shampoo for colored hair or any other shampoo with a low alkali content. This will prolong the life of the procedure's effect. It would be good to purchase a fluid – a special product essential for preserving the shine and silkiness of the structure after coloring.
