Bio-tattoo: Decorate Your Body

Bio-tattoo reconciled admirers and opponents of classic tattoos

Such designs are applied to the body by specialized tattoo salons in Moscow and other cities of Russia, as well as abroad.

One of the oldest methods of decorating the human body is applying designs on the skin with henna. Moreover, such bio-tattoos were worn by both men and women. Bio-tattooing was most popular in the Middle Ages in India and Central Asia. The designs had social, religious, and sometimes even magical significance.

Bio-tattoo today is more of a fashion trend. The design is still applied by a master using henna of a special composition. With proper application and care, the image can last up to several weeks, or even up to a month. Unlike classic tattooing, bio-tattoo is done not with a needle but with brushes.

Before making a bio-tattoo, a peeling is done – this way the design stays on the skin longer. Moreover, the more henna is applied, the more intense your tattoo will be, and the longer it will last. The design can be applied using a stencil, or drawn by hand, which is more expensive.

Although the principle of bio-tattoo is fundamentally different from the classic one (no skin damage), it still requires proper care: it cannot be rubbed with a washcloth, you cannot use various scrubs, it must not be wet for the first time, and it should be treated with a cotton swab soaked in vegetable oil.

The disadvantages of such body art just a year ago were that it had not yet become widespread and finding a master was a problem. But today, many qualified specialists work in various specialized studios who will do the job at the highest level. So only one inconvenience remains – it blurs slightly, which sometimes makes it impossible to do detailed drawing.

However, if you do not like the tattoo, it will fade fairly quickly, and you can get another one in the same place; if you like it, you can refresh it again. Another plus is that henna itself has an antibacterial effect, and the price of applying such a tattoo is noticeably lower than that of a real one.

Remember that before applying such a design to your body, it may be useful to consult if not a doctor, then at least a master. Also learn more about the composition of the paints, because you may have an intolerance to some of the substances in it.
