Basketball innovations

In the interests of players, who have recently been under too much strain due to the increasingly crowded international and domestic club match calendars, all qualifying matches will take place in September. By the way, some of the strongest national teams (based on the results of the 2003 European Championship) have been exempted from qualifying matches.

The pause that exists in the competition schedule will be filled, and in the future, national team players will not be called up from their clubs at times when their coaches seriously rely on them. In short, it can be said that another step has been taken towards a civilized resolution of misunderstandings between clubs and national teams.

In Group C, which includes the Ukrainian national team, matches will begin, as in the other groups, on September 8. On that day, in the city of Yuzhny (Odessa Oblast), Ukrainians will host the German national team. On September 11, Ukrainians will play in Charleroi against the Belgians, on the 14th against the Hungarians in Kaposvár, and on the 18th against the Germans in Nuremberg. After that, our team will return to Yuzhny, where on September 22 it will host the Belgians, and on the 25th the Hungarians. These same days are the official dates for qualifying matches in the other four groups.
