Buenos Aires retained second place (87 points), while last year's winner Florence slipped to fifth (86). Third and fourth places went to Cape Town and Sydney. Following are Cusco, Rome, New York, Istanbul, and San Francisco. Only the Peruvian city is a newcomer to the top ten.
Survey participants rated cities on sights, entertainment, restaurants and food, friendliness of locals, shopping appeal, and value for money. The survey was conducted from January to March.
As Travel.ru reports, regional rankings were also compiled. In Europe, the top ten included Florence, Rome, Istanbul, Paris, Krakow, Prague, Venice, Barcelona, Vienna, and Salzburg. In Asia, after Bangkok follow Kyoto, Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, Udaipur, Shanghai, Siem Reap, Beijing, Hanoi, and Jaipur.
In Africa and the Middle East, after Cape Town come Jerusalem, Fez, Marrakech, Cairo, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Amman, Tunis, and Alexandria. In the USA and Canada, the best are New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Charleston (South Carolina), Santa Fe, Quebec City, Montreal, Vancouver, Savannah, and Victoria.
The top five cities in Latin America were Buenos Aires, Cusco, San Miguel de Allende (Mexico), Rio de Janeiro, and Antigua (Guatemala). And in Australia and Oceania – Sydney, Melbourne, Queenstown, Perth, and Hobart.
