A child car seat must be chosen correctly
Many parents know practically nothing about such a necessary accessory, so they buy a completely unsuitable car seat for their child. And yet in a specific situation this can lead to dire consequences. Moreover, the shape of the seat itself can sometimes adversely affect the posture of the little passenger sitting in it.
To choose the right car seat, you need to know all types of this device, as well as be able to properly fasten it to the standard car seat. Possessing basic knowledge on this issue, you can easily select comfortable child car seats on the ZAPP board that will ensure safe transportation of your child in the car.
Child car seats are divided into five groups by child weight. The first group includes seats for the smallest children, whose weight is up to ten kilograms. To tell the truth, such a device cannot be called a seat. It is more like a cradle in which the child travels lying down.
The second group of car seats is designed for children weighing up to thirteen kilograms. In such a seat, the little passenger is in a reclining position. A three-point seat belt is provided for secure fastening. The seat is installed so that the child's back is directed towards the direction of the car's movement. This is very important to consider, otherwise during sharp braking the child's head may tilt forward quickly, which can result in a fracture of the cervical vertebrae.
Car seats of the third group are suitable for children weighing from nine to eighteen kilograms. Such child seats are installed in the direction of the car's movement. The seat is equipped with a more modern and effective 5-point seat belt, which will not damage the child's internal organs in case of an accident.
The fourth type of car seats consists of seats with a high extending backrest. They can carry children weighing from 15 to 25 kilograms. Such car seats are attached to the car seats very simply – using a standard seat belt, which also holds the child. And when the seat back becomes too small for the young passenger, it simply detaches, resulting in the last type of car seat, called a booster.
Seats of this type are ideal for children weighing from 22 to 36 kilograms. Well, if the child's height has reached 150 centimeters, then you can stop using a child car seat altogether.
Not all child seats are attached to the standard car seat only with a seat belt. There is also a special Isofix fastening system, which makes the risk of incorrect installation almost zero. This is the main difference between this fastening system and ordinary seat belts. Otherwise, everything is the same.
Thus, you need to choose a car seat that is suitable for your child in all respects wisely. Have a safe and happy trip!
