Prague is a piece of medieval Europe
It is not for nothing that the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV (reigned 1346-1378) loved the Czech Republic. And the emperor had a lot to choose from. A small country in the center of Europe is a true cultural "pearl". In terms of the number of castles and palaces per square kilometer, no "popular" European country can compare with the Czech Republic. Literally along a route of 100-150 kilometers, you can trace in retrospect the history of European castle and palace construction over a thousand-year period.
You can find both ruins and structures that are still ready to hold a defense. They are used in the making of documentary and feature films. And by walking around the vicinity, you can sometimes discover combat positions, remnants of military camps. In addition, many architectural structures typically have beautiful garden and park landscaping, and inside there are exhibition halls displaying household items, works of art, and weapons from that period.
Some castles of the Czech Republic are not only museums, but also hotels at the same time. Where else will you have the opportunity to spend a night in a museum. You can visit a knightly tournament, taste dishes from medieval cuisine, and generally touch history. So, after visiting the Czech Republic, you can confidently say: I was in medieval Europe.
Only here you can try real Czech beer in famous beer halls, the secrets of which the Czechs still keep. Moreover, in the beer halls where beer is produced according to old recipes, you cannot take it out, but you can drink as much as you want. Interestingly, the beer brewing standard was adopted in the Czech Republic under the same Charles IV. One of the ways to check the quality of beer was this: beer was poured onto an oak bench and a person in special leather pants sat on it. If, when he stood up, the bench also rose, then the drink was considered high quality. Nowadays, hardly any brewer would risk conducting such an experiment.
The resorts of the Czech Republic, famous Bohemian glass, and of course the sights of Prague deserve special attention. The Czech Republic is Europe in miniature, with a unique history, excellent service, and affordability.
