Austrian Post sells cryptocurrencies for cash

1,800 post offices issue buyers a receipt for cryptocurrencies, which can be activated at bitpanda.com/togo. The website also publishes current prices for each of the mentioned currencies. No additional fees are charged.

To create an account on the site, users need a valid email address. They choose which cryptocurrency they want to purchase and enter the code. The selected amount of currency is then transferred to the user's account.

Fair prices for offline purchases

Bitpanda, formerly known as Coinimal, aims to provide fair prices for offline sales of cryptocurrencies. Austrian Post allows bitpanda to sell digital assets at cost. As a result, the cost structure of an offline cash purchase matches that of an online purchase. This makes cryptocurrencies more attractive to those who consider online commerce less advantageous.

Bitpanda was founded under the name Coinimal in October 2014 by Bitcoin enthusiasts who experienced firsthand how difficult it is to purchase it in the European Union. The lack of such offerings on the market led to the birth of the Coinimal idea.

Universal platform

Last year, Coinimal introduced the "Sell" option, allowing users to easily convert Ethereum back into regular money using their bank account. The process of buying and selling it can otherwise be time-consuming, as most exchange services are either tied to the US or mainly offer ETH to BTC exchange. There are nine options for payment or withdrawal via PayPal, NETELLER, Skrill or SEPA.

Coinimal rebranded to bitpanda in 2016, after which they introduced their own Bitcoin wallet. Last month, bitpanda integrated an Ethereum wallet into its platform, and support for Litecoin and Dash was also added.
