According to Eduabroad.ru, as of April 26, foreigners who receive a student visa automatically also get the right to work – without filling out additional documents. It is worth noting that family members who travel with the student are also allowed to work.
The work conditions have not changed: students can work up to 20 hours per week during semesters, and unlimited hours during holidays. Relatives of a student studying for a bachelor's degree can work up to 20 hours per week at any time. If the student is pursuing a master's degree or higher, their family members can work unlimited hours. However, both students and the foreign student's family can only start working from the official start date of the course.
The cost of the student visa has also changed. Previously, students had to pay a total of 490 Australian dollars – 430 AUD for the visa application and 60 AUD for a separate work permit. Now students only need to pay 450 dollars for a combined application for visa and work permit.
Those who received a student visa before April 26 can separately apply for a work permit, which will cost the same 60 AUD.
