The tourist visa is granted for a 30-day stay, valid for 60 days from the date of issue until entry into the country, and can be extended once for up to 30 days. If the tourist does not enter the country within the visa validity period, a new entry permit must be obtained for a subsequent visit. The cost of issuing a tourist visa is 210 dirhams (about $57), and an extension is 610 dirhams ($166).
In addition, Ratanews.ru reports that tourist visas previously issued to citizens of 70 countries are now uniform for all foreign tourists.
According to the new law, travel companies will be able to apply for two types of visas – Tourist visa and Mission visa.
The procedure for issuing visas for citizens of 33 countries who can obtain an entry permit directly upon arrival at the UAE airport remains unchanged.
Among other visa categories: a multiple-entry visa valid for six months, but allowing the tourist to stay in the country for no more than two weeks per trip; a short-term visit visa for a stay of up to 30 days; a long-term visit visa for a stay of up to 60 days; an educational visa. For those wishing to undergo treatment in the UAE, a special visa (Medical treatment) with a validity of 90 days is provided. Separate visa categories are available for those wishing to attend festivals, as well as for participants of exhibitions and conferences; a transit visa for a stay of up to 96 hours.
