Anapa – a Multifaceted Reality

Anapa – a Multifaceted Reality

View of Anapa

By now, this city has turned into an amazing multifaceted place where almost every tourist can find exactly what they need. The role of tourism in the economy and culture of Anapa is so high that in 2008 a humorous monument to vacationers was even opened here. A year earlier, a monument to the white hat, the unofficial symbol of the city, appeared.

In recent years, cottages in Anapa have become popular among wealthy people. Anapa, where the prices for vacations vary widely, is accessible to most Russians at least through the method of saving up for an annual trip to the sea.

The entertainment you can expect here, as well as the amount of it, depends on the thickness of your wallet. We will simply list the main city attractions – so that you can choose those that will be of interest to you.

For museum enthusiasts, there are archaeological and local lore museums. Children will surely enjoy the dolphinarium and oceanarium. Notable buildings include the Russian Gates (a fragment of an old fortress) and a lighthouse built in 1955 on the site of an old lighthouse destroyed by the Germans during the Great Patriotic War.

But most vacationers are, of course, attracted to the city beaches. Among beach lovers, the most popular is recreation in Dzhemete (a suburb of Anapa) with its famous sandy beaches, which are also somewhat less crowded at the height of the tourist season than the beaches within the city, which are packed to capacity with vacationers at that time.

Of course, it's a matter of personal taste and financial means, but many people fundamentally prefer to come to Anapa as if to a fairy tale, as a vacationer. After all, buying and maintaining a house where you can live only a few weeks a year is too costly. It's easier to rent a cottage. However, maybe in old age, when choosing a place for a well-deserved retirement, many will change their mind and buy a little house in Anapa.
