In total, according to the ETSC study, over the past decade, 27 thousand people died in road accidents in 27 European capitals. And despite an overall decline in the number of deaths by the end of this period, in the last year alone, car accidents claimed the lives of over one and a half thousand people.
As reported by Travel.ru, most European metropolises have managed to significantly reduce the death rate in car crashes. The best at this task were Dublin, Oslo, and Lisbon: the number of tragic cases decreased by 12%, 10%, and 9% respectively. Successes were noted for Sofia, Bratislava, Madrid, Bucharest, Warsaw, Paris, Copenhagen, and Tallinn. Rome and London showed virtually zero dynamics, while in Helsinki, according to ETSC data, the number of fatalities from road accidents increased.
