Until now, the presence of our smaller brothers in airplane cabins was allowed only in extreme cases - for example, when they provided direct assistance to passengers, particularly guide dogs for the blind. Representatives of major airlines and lawyers appealed to the US government to expand the list of animals allowed access to airplane cabins. So, according to their arguments, 'monkeys can carry a wheelchair, and some people with epilepsy use animals to warn others that they have started having a seizure.'
Some animals will be near their owners in the air only as 'emotional support.' At the same time, aviation authorities have compiled a list of those animals that will never, under any circumstances, be allowed into the cabin of an airliner - these are snakes, ferrets, rodents and spiders, reports RBC.
