The Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa was created specifically for guests of the country to show them the beauty of the desert and offer a vacation unlike standard hotels. Here, anyone can touch the secrets of the surrounding nature. Moreover, the style of Bedouin tent houses perfectly fits into the overall landscape. You can reach the eco-hotel by all-terrain vehicles or jeeps, as the sands surrounding the resort simply do not allow a road to be built to it. And the roads themselves could disrupt the established atmosphere.
Since the hotel is located in a protected desert area, a number of restrictions have been adopted on its territory so as not to disturb the established ecosystem by human factors. Firstly, driving private vehicles is strictly prohibited here. Secondly, all water used is fully recycled. In addition, Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa runs a program to preserve and increase the number of rare scimitar-horned oryxes (oryx).
Oryxes and gazelles are the main local attractions. On the hotel grounds, they are treated with special care. In addition to interacting with the horned 'stars', you will be offered two daily entertainment activities. These may include falconry, a desert trip on horseback or camel, traditional Arabic archery, jeep or quad bike safaris, as well as guided walks in the surrounding area. For those who prefer a more relaxing pastime, the Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa features a jacuzzi, fitness center, massage therapist, and a full range of spa treatments. This is a wonderful place to get closer to Asian traditions and immerse yourself in the world of aromatherapy and complete harmony.
Here you can also hear the amazing legend of Al Maha. It tells of a wonderful place hidden among the hot desert sands and surrounded by multi-meter dunes. Anyone could come here to quench their thirst or simply seek coolness and water under the scorching sun. However, due to human greed, the beautiful oasis of Al Maha nearly perished. Only many years later, a young hunter accidentally found a small stream remaining from its former splendor. The young man vowed that no person would ever again be denied water and shelter, and he settled near the source. And indeed, although Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa is located in the heart of the desert, there is no shortage of water here.
In this oasis hotel, guests are offered the best and most comfortable rooms, or rather 'Bedouin tents'. Each one features rare handmade furniture, antique decorations, and all this splendor is complemented by small details such as binoculars, easels with brushes and paints, as well as a desk with writing utensils. You can use all this wealth at any time and even try to paint a picture depicting the beauty and uniqueness of the desert.
