Ukrainians can apply for a full scholarship to study at the Deutsche Welle Academy
The curriculum includes not only the theoretical foundations of journalism, but also the study of media management and media economics. International cooperation is also a focus. After all, the target group of the master's program is foreigners from countries with rapidly developing economies and developing countries.
The program is designed for four semesters. Not only journalists and public relations specialists can enroll in the master's program, but also managers with experience in the media. Mandatory conditions for starting the program are a bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience.
Classes begin in September 2017. Applications are accepted until March 31. The program is taught in two languages – English and German. Therefore, applicants must confirm their language skills with certificates: the required level of German is B2, English – C1.
For two years of study, you will have to pay 6,000 euros. You can pay the entire amount at once or pay monthly installments of 250 euros. In addition, as for other students in Germany, a semester fee is mandatory for Deutsche Welle master's students: currently it is 280 euros.
To cover tuition costs, the Deutsche Welle Academy offers two types of grants: a partial scholarship (6,000 euros) is intended only for tuition fees; holders of a full scholarship receive airfare and living expenses in Germany (in addition to the amount covering tuition, the participant receives 750 euros monthly).
Candidates from Belarus, Ukraine, and Central Asian countries can apply for a full scholarship – in this case, in addition to a bachelor's degree, at least two years of work experience is required. This year, according to the organizers, the master's program can provide ten full scholarships. Candidates from Russia are offered only partial scholarships, but they have the opportunity to apply for funding from one of the German scholarship foundations.
