«And We Are Going North» or A Journey to Scandinavia

Crystal clear water, majestic fjords, and dense forests are the main attributes of the Nordic countries

Largely due to the climatic characteristics of the region, residents of Scandinavian countries are almost always balanced and unhurried. The manner of communication of Scandinavians is calm, slow, and drawn out. The pace of life in Scandinavia can be described as measured, without fuss: locals are more inclined to philosophize and compose legends than to worry and show anxiety.

A trip to Scandinavia has not only its charm but also its specifics: to visit all the Nordic countries, tourists have to combine various modes of transport – ferry, bus, train, plane. Certainly, this allows you to significantly diversify a trip to Scandinavia and allows you to look at this magical region from different angles – from the window of a bus or from the porthole of a ferry.

Why are more and more tourists choosing Scandinavia? The answer is simple – the Nordic countries are rich in natural and historical monuments, attractions. The Norwegian fjords are the most visited place on earth, one could call it a tourist Mecca. UNESCO has justifiably included them in the World Heritage List.

Among other things, Scandinavia has a superbly developed infrastructure – there is a well-developed network of hotels, many hotels, business and entertainment centers. Road connections are very well developed, so you can easily move, say, from Norway to Sweden, and from there across the famous bridge to Denmark.

By the way, rest in Scandinavia is very beneficial for children, especially in winter – you can go dog sledding (though only accompanied by adults), visit the residence of Santa Claus (or as he is called in Finland Joulupukki) in Lapland - Rovaniemi.

Visiting historical museums, which the Scandinavian land abounds in, will leave no one indifferent. Here you can get to know the culture of the ancient Vikings and the heroes of Scandinavian myths and literary fairy tales.
